My husband was working 17-1 & 17-2 poll this morning at the Jewish Community Center when a Felton supporter wearing a huge sandwich board sign, like you see on the boardwalk, sauntered up on the JCC property.
My husband was the only Republican among many Democrats, working the morning crowd. But he stopped the woman with the sign and told her it was illegal for her to be there and that she would have to stand on the sidewalk or public right-of-way. At first she argued with him and several other Felton workers came to her defense.
At that point my husband got out his camera and his cell phone and said he was going to take her photograph and call voter regs. She reluctantly left and went to stand at the entrance to the parking lot.
What is it about Walter Felton, his campaign, and following the law? They must think rules are for other people.
As a footnote: While all this was going on, there were many Dems, who most likely know the rules, standing around, and not one of them told her she should leave or agreed with my husband, except for Michael Schlossberg, who stepped in while the woman was arguing, and said, "I think he's right. You need to leave the property". Thanks Michael for having the courage to do the right thing.

Schloss is a bright guy. I'm proud to know him and have voted for him. He's the kind of person that makes you prouder the more you know him.
Geoff
I have never seen a more inappropriate campaign the the Felton campaign. Embarrassing for Allentown.
Well Pam I was a bit disappointed outside the JCC. No toys or cigars. Indeed there were local political celebrities, but no souvenirs.
The wife and I were #125 & #126 at around 11:00 AM
A FEW OBSERVATIONS:
* The only ACORN I could spot was in a squirrel's mouth.
* District 1 was empty (as usual). District 2 had a small line.
* People were at the machines for several minutes. Which most likely meant they didn't push the BIG BUTTONS. More then likely they were splitting their tickets. As a result we had to wait with 4 or 5 people in line. THAT'S A GOOD THING.
Since there's such poor turn out for these things, wouldn't it be a good idea to hand out to everyone who voted a voucher good for your choice of one free 8oz package of baloney OR one tube of suppositories (good for 4 years)?
We all know the real reason Felton and Democrats do not have to follow the rules
(giant elephant has entered room)
Geoff, I don't know him well enough to agree with you, so I'll take your word for it.
But I do appreciate courage when I see it, and in the face of silence from his compadres, he spoke up. That says something about his character.
Anon 10:24,
I have to admit that Mr. Felton really worries me. Should he win, I would have little faith in the impartiality of our District Magistrate.
Glenn,
Shame you weren't there when my husband was working for Ron Manescu, you could have at least gotten a pen. Gee, not even any nail files this year? It must be the economic slowdown.
* Those squirrels always were Democrats
* I'm headed to vote, now. We'll see what the traffic looks like.
* Interesting observation that the folks were at the machines for a while. Sounds like some careful consideration of options is going on.
I'm not much on lunch meat: I'll take the suppositories, please.
Anon 12:56,
That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with.
Mr Felton, alone, is responsible for the poor management and low regard for the rules, within his campaign.
Putting him in a position of judicial authority, with the attitude he has demonstrated, is something I hope the voters do not do.
Hey, Pawlowski did throw nail files at the kids during the Halloween Parade! My six year old said it had to be the worst treat ever. :)
Mama,
I'm glad to hear you're raising thoughtful voters !
Who throws nail files during the Halloween parade? That is so Pawlowski.
at the 4th of July fire works, he gave my girlfriend a broken pen. not kidding. it didn't click, write or function in any manner.
eh, in hindsight, I would have rather had a nailfile.
Geoff
We had the same problem with the Felton group during the primary with a large truck with his campaign sign in the bed right in the parking lot of the church.
Democrats love to paint with broad brush.
Equality is equality.
I am glad that Mike won, he deserves a chance, I repeated several times that I thought it unfair to paint him with any brush when he had yet to hold any office.
I wish him the best, and I think many will be pleasantly surprised at what he brings to governing.
